Born in Peru, Giesela Silvia Cárdenas Magno moved to the province of Tarma when she was barely one year old. She returned to her hometown to attend college and study Metallurgy Engineering with the idea of learning all she could about silver. This wasn't to be, so to complement her studies she took several extra-curricular courses specializing in silverwork, which led to her career as a jeweler and silversmith.
Giesela confides that, "Working with silver is a dream come true which I often had to postpone due to my family's economic situation." She's only recently began to design and craft her collections, and she has already received admiring praise from teachers and tutors.
Giesela is a natural and versatile artist; she stood out in school for her drawing and painting talents. Along with her brothers, she has also learned to weave wool tapestries. She was taught by her father when she was 11 years old, and confides that landscapes are her favorite compositions. She is proud of her weaving dexterity, because in this way she is able to help her father when he needs her.
Giesela describes her products as high quality works of art. She is motivated by a desire to achieve recognition; she would like for people value and appreciate her work. Giesela counts among her greatest challenges to be regarded as a professional artist.
Giesela would like to assure Novica clients that her designs are the fruits of a family legacy dedicated to various art forms, and that they are executed with immense passion and hard work.
