Komang Susila

"My name is Komang Susila. I was born in 1976 as the youngest of three children, and I'm a silversmith from Bali who happened to realize my talent when I was in secondary school. At that time I designed a pair of earrings and kept them together with my father's collection in his silver shop. One day, a tourist came by the shop. Among the several pieces of jewelry she bought was my design. I was so proud of my work and was challenged to create more!

"After graduating from high school, I continued to the university, and majored in Economics to help in marketing my silver work.

"The Bali bombing tragedy in 2002 had a very negative impact on every aspect of life in Bali, especially tourism. A friend of mine introduced me to Novica. When I understood Novica's mission in helping promote artists and their work throughout the whole world, with no doubts at all I decided to participate."
