Ere and Paulo

Erendina Melo, or Erê, was born in the state of Minas Gerais, and later moved to Belo Horizonte when she married Paolo Melo, a lawyer. The moment Erê became familiar with the spectacular gems, she was inspired to design and create jewelry pieces. Minas Gerais is an important producer of precious and semi-precious stones.

Her friends admired her work so much, they became her first clients. Gradually the demand for her collections began to grow -- first local boutiques, then fairs. Interest in her designs has become so widespread, that Erê has been able to set up her own workshop and offer jobs to local artisans. In 1992, she was invited to participate in FENIT, a renowned fashion show in Sao Paulo.

Erê and Paulo work together, she designs and creates the different jewelry pieces while Paulo takes care of the finances and administration. They have two grown-up children, Erika and Felipe, who help out their parent. Erê and Paulo are happy to show their products to a broader audience through Novica.
