"I was born on the 6th January 1967, in a village called Banjar Sengguan, Kawan Gianyar Bali. For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated with clay. I used to sit by the banks of the Ayung River, while my father quarried sandstone, and then created life from clay. It was a way to express my creativity.
"I have been married since 1992 and have three children, two boys and one girl. We started to make ceramic products around 1998 when a tourist friend gave us a small cup. It was so well made and smooth, its shape so simple and unique, that it made me want to produce ceramics.
"After many attempts we were able to make different types of samples, including teapots, cups and incense burners. We then sold to hotels, shops and also to schools for fund raising.
"Finally, after three months, we received enough orders to eat and take care of the family. From our first profits we opened a small retail shop in the tourist area of Ubud.
"Our hope is to make good, quality ceramic products at an affordable price and to stay constantly creative, using new ideas all the time. And we are grateful to God for seeing us through the last eight years, sometimes hard, but always interesting.
"What we like about working with Novica is that they respect our work and us. At the same time promoting our ceramics on an international level. And that Novica also promotes many different types of Balinese art and culture makes me feel happy to be a part of the team."
