Born in Peru, Giesela Silvia Cárdenas Magno moved to the province of Tarma when she was barely one year old. She returned to Lima to attend college and study Metallurgy Engineering with the idea of learning all she could about silver. This wasn't to be, so to complement her studies she took several extra-curricular courses specializing in silverwork, which led to her career as a jeweler and silversmith.
