Twin birds crown a mysterious mask by Sukaenah. Inspired by the traditional art of Nusa Tenggara Timur in Indonesia, she sculpts a compelling image. Sukaenah casts her design in bronze and bathes it in gleaming sterling silver.

"Working with bronze in a historical context has challenged me to learn more about history and culture, which I greatly enjoy."
Sukaenah was born on July 4, 1978. As a child, she loved to climb a big tree in her garden. From there she could jump onto the roof of her family's house. Her favorite rooftop spot was nicely shaded, and it soon became her personal hideout where she would go to read or study.

During her high school years, Sukaenah was very active in different school organizations as well as sporting events - she was a long-distance runner. She also joined the Paskibra, a group responsible for hanging the national flag ...
