Traditionally worn for sacrificial rites, these Inca masks were considered as amulets to communicate with the apus (gods) and ask for their favor. Jaime Zapata hand-crafts the masks from a combination of papier-maché and plaster of Paris; the masks are adorned with jute headdresses.
