"Hello. I'm Veria Canonico Siciliano and I was born in Napoli, Italy, although we moved to Lima when I was just a child. I was very young when I first became involved with artistic questions – only 15. I experimented with a number of media, including ceramics, sculptures, painting and glass. Beginning in 2000, I've worked in fused glass.
"For me, motivation comes from creativity and a constant desire to make something new. I love to investigate new techniques. Through my art, I strive to transmit something that's original, artistic, utilitarian and pleasing.
"I'd say that my greatest challenge in this profession has been the struggle to be independent, with my own workshop, at the same time participating in spiritual growth groups.
"Everything begins with a dream. Hold on to it and never let it go. Work at something you like and do it with you body, mind and spirit. Most important, be happy."
Canonico studied at the Michelangelo Institute in Florence, Italy. She has exhibited her work in Buenos Aires, Rome and Lima. While in Caracas, Venezuela, she had her own art academy where she enjoyed transmitting her art and sharing the same sensations with others.
