"For five years, I studied fine arts. I had opportunity of learning with great masters, among them Raul de Mello, who wrote this about my work: 'With its creativity, each piece elicits an emotion and a technique so spontaneous that we can evaluate the stature to which this artist has arrived.' I passed through various phases and learned a variety of techniques such as oil on canvas, watercolor and ceramics, becoming a teacher of painting on china and faience. I believe that the more techniques an artist masters, the more creative resources he or she will have. Based on this, I experimented with glazes and their novel applications, teaching this to my students and colleagues.
"I have always possessed an excellent creative autonomy, so I have my own kiln, which permitted me to experiment without fear. In 2002, I begin make pieces in glass. I am passionate about this technique – the colors and the way the glass molds itself are fascinating. My inspiration for creating refined pieces comes from the beauty of the landscape, from Brazilian flora and fauna.
"There is a peculiarity about painting on glass. The paints flow with great ease, which complicates the creation of non-abstract drawings. Much skill is needed to draw figures and landscapes. Thanks to years of practice in porcelain painting, I acquired ability and firmness in drawing.
"Along my path as an artist, I have received countless medals and honorable mentions that commend my work."
