"Hello, my name is Mahender Kumawat and I was born and brought up in Jaipur, which is also known as the 'Pink City.' I wasn't able to complete my studies due to our family's financial situation. However, my three siblings and I had a lot of fun while growing up. Some of my fondest memories are about the games we'd play in the fields nearby.

"I have been inclined to drawing and sketching from an early age. My father and uncle were professional artists and I derive great inspiration from them. I used to go to my uncle's place everyday after school so he could teach me. Then when I'd get home, I would practice under my father's watchful guidance. They taught me for more than four years, and when I left school I started painting fulltime, as a professional. My younger brother Dinesh also has a flair for painting, so we used to paint together.

"Though I could not continue with my studies, I made sure my younger brothers got a good education. My dreams came true when my brother Dinesh completed his Masters in Drawing, and he does amazing work. He is now a lecturer in a college and I am very proud of him!

"To me, art has no end and you can carry on learning 'till the end of times. Initially I began painting on cloth, a traditional form of painting called the Pichwai. But as time passed by, I applied my painting skills to different media such as marble, canvas, paper, etc. My favorite themes are flowers and birds.

"My dreams for the future include opening my own shop. My wife is also an artist, and together we make great paintings. Novica is a great opportunity to exhibit my work, which I hope people will appreciate."
