Born in Belgium in 1959, Mia grew up in a small village near the French-Belgium border. "I consider myself a child of nature, I so enjoyed playing in the fields and forests," comments Mia. "After working as a teacher and later for a graphic design company, my husband and I decided it was time to change our busy lifestyles for a less stressful way of living. Asia inspired us, particularly the way of living in South-East Asia.
