Kang

"Hi, my name is Kang. I live with my mother and my younger sister, and we are very close. I do not come from a large family, and I think we are a very nice family.

"I always liked going to school, and I especially enjoyed art class. So much so, that after graduating from high school, I decided to major in fine arts when I went to the university. I have always liked to paint, ever since I was young. I would spend the afternoon in my room painting. I am a very calm and cheerful person, and when I paint, I feel free and happy.

"I also love Thailand and its culture. The city I grew up in has a rich history and there are many temples too. I go to the temple often to become a good Buddhist. I really like everything about this religion, and about my country, that is why I started painting portraits of Lanna (northern Thai) girls. I like to be able to express myself through my culture and I am glad that people all over the world can get to know about the ancient Lanna Empire of Thailand, thanks to my work.

"I really hope that in the future I will come to be known for representing the Lanna people. I am thankful to Novica for giving me this opportunity."
