Angela S.

Being Thai and having international experience, Angela Srisomwongwathana presents another perspective of her own country and culture through her quality work.

"I have ten years of experience working with Americans as a computer specialist. Traveling extensively to almost twenty countries, I decided one day to make more use of a different side of my brain. I became a photographer by combining my artistic and scientific ability, and my point of view to create images. All black and white pictures were taken by a Leica M6 camera, and were developed by pro lab in Bangkok, then hand-printed. No other lens can beat the fine quality of a Leica lens. Although it seems like photography is not far beyond anyone's reach, to actually produce a fine, quality photo is another story."

Srisomwongwathana's most recent works appeared in a solo exhibition in a prestigious northern Thai studio and in a group exhibition entitled "Recording Cultural Traditions and Change" at the Foreign Correspondents Club of Thailand. Her published works appear frequently in Sawasdee, the Thai Airways in-flight magazine, and were magnificently featured on the cover of its March 2001 issue. Her work can also be seen in other leading Thai magazines.
