Sabby Johal

"Hello, my name is Sabby Johal. I am a fashion designer by profession and since childhood I have always been fascinated by designing things. Initially, I started my career as a fashion designer for garments. I also have a label, which is my own creation, and under this label my designs have been exhibited in cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Chandigarh. The salwar kameez I am wearing in this photo is my own creation.

"We are four siblings: three girls and one boy. We get along very well. My brother Bhupender has been my inspiration. He has always encouraged me and I couldn't have done it without him. After earning my designing degree, I worked for an exports firm. My family never had a single woman working and I broke the tradition when I started working for myself. It really feels good. After all, it's about being independent. "Eventually I joined my brother in his company. We deal in all kinds of handmade home furnishings like cushion covers, throws, table cloths, duvet covers, pillow cases, runners, floor mats, curtains; fashion accessories including handbags, headbands, hair clips, jewelries; ceramic and terracotta items for home and gardens, scarves, gift items including decorative photo frames, candle stands, floral vases, Christmas decorations, etc. We have now very recently entered into wrought iron furniture and other accessories. The designs are done based on customers' demand. I also design the products.
