Carta Association was formed in November of 2005 with the purpose of preserving and promoting Ayacucho's textile legacy. Carta Association includes the region's best weavers grouped in nine sub-organizations located in the city's cardinal points. In all, 120 families form Carta Association.

The principle behind Carta Association is community work so weavers may work together and help each other to make their products more competitive, improve quality, and guarantee their families' wellbeing.
