"My father used to work at a company that produces products of rattan and wood fiber in Borneo. He taught my brothers and me some techniques in creating seating mats made of natural materials so that one day we would be ready to set up our own workshop.

"In 1986, with the whole family, we moved to Bali and decided to produce a variety of seating mats in a professional way. However, the beginning is always difficult. The natural materials we need are hardly found in Bali. With my family's support, I started to contact friends of my father in Borneo. And here I am now, weaving rattan and wood fibers that we obtained in this way.

"I married a Balinese woman named Ni Luh Gede Angandari and we have a handsome son. He is the greatest thing I've ever had in this life. When I stress out and feel tired of my work, I turn to my son and suddenly everything feels good again. By doing this kind of work, producing natural products, I hope I can give him a good education and a better future."
