Hand-knotted wool rug, 'Floral Magic' (4x6.5)

Beautiful floral motifs find a stately symmetry on black. This elegant design comes from Ishtyaq. The soft woolen strands are individually knotted around vertical threads on a traditional loom. A weft (horizontal) thread between each row of hand-tied pile holds it in place, and a canvas backing protects it. This beautiful rug features 81 knots per inch and receives a tea wash.
