Huaman Brothers

Born in the beautiful city of Huancayo, José and Justo Huaman are dedicated to the production of alpaca wool garments, as well as other fibers. They learned the art of their craft from their father. Through the years, they each specialized in different aspects of garment confection, mainly alpaca.

José and Justo decided to combine their different talents and establish a workshop together. Everything they know they learned from their father, as well as from experience. They seek inspiration from nature - its colors and its flowers.

The brothers are married with children; they are the driving force behind their work, for José and Justo want to make sure they can provide for their families and give an education to their children.

"Sometimes we remember the days when we used to knit garments just for the people we knew," reminisce José and Justo. "Now we make good quality products for people we don't know!"

Their work has achieved local renown since they have exhibited their wares at local markets and fairs. They hope one day soon their work will achieve international recognition too. José and Justo also want to make sure their children grow healthy and have professional careers so they can eventually manage what is a now a family business, "First our parents, now us, tomorrow our children," they say with pride.
